Godson Nwankwo is the head of Programs, Policy and Research development at the Centre for Youth Participation Dialogue and Advocacy Africa. For the past five years, he has worked as a civil society leader bringing young people together to advocate for policies and reforms that empower young people to be active players in Nigeria's Economic and political life. He is a public policy analyst and was among the delegates of the national visioning process of the Nigeria Youths Futures fund that developed the Nigeria We Want Policy document on Nigeria's future.He is a research Fellow at Future Africa, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Open Minds Young Voices fellow and a fellow of the Legislative Mentorship Initiative, National Assembly Nigeria. In 2023, he became a Goldin Global Fellow at Goldin Institute Chicago, USA where he joined a global community of practice leading community-driven social change across the globe. Godson believes that an Africa of shared prosperity is possible when young people are the prime target of any Economic vision and development effort by policymakers. Head Of Programs, Policy And Research Development
Provide leadership in the development of strategic plans and budgets for all programs in CYPA Africa. Provide leadership to the Programme Team towards achieving the objectives of the organization’s strategy. Support the Executive Director and the Senior Management Team to lead the development of both strategic and operational plans. Ensure quality implementation of all projects of CYPA Africa. Develop, monitor, review and update the Programme department activity, and work plan to ensure that it attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible. Review and approve programme concepts, and partner financial requests as per organizational process and procedures Oversee administrative aspects of the program to meet the objectives of stakeholders Ensure close monitoring of the program works in the field to ensure alignment, monitor the flow of information and systemic documentation of quantitative and qualitative achievements in the field and lessons learned thereof. Ensure quality and timely submission of quarterly and annual or required Programme and Project Performance Reports as per desired standards and guidelines Led and managed the program team to achieve its mandated targets in accordance with annual operational plans. Ensure an empowering work environment and team building in compliance with CYPA Africa‘s values, principles and attitude and create an enabling environment for staff performance, recognition and reward of the program team to encourage staff productivity, innovation and performance (e.g. facilities, equipment, duty facilitation, team building etc)

As a member of the Imaginative Future working group (IFWG) representing Abia state in the South East region, my role is to identify, analyze, and integrate the perspectives of youth from my locality and state in line with the thematic areas at the regional level. The output documents will serve as tools for advocacy.Through the Imaginative Future working group, the NYFF seeks to support young people in Nigeria for outcome-driven policy engagements by mainstreaming their voices into the development of Nigeria’s short, medium and long term Agenda, and into the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063, Africa-EU Partnership, AfCFTA and the UN SDGs.
