Hi, I'm Godwin! My passion for cybersecurity ignited in 2016 when a British hacker took down the largest telecommunications company in my country during the Mirai attack. Witnessing that event made me realize the immense impact of cybersecurity on our world, and I have been driven ever since to understand and combat such threats. I see cybersecurity not just as a career but as a calling to protect the digital infrastructure that supports our everyday lives.Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University, with a specialization in Information Risk, Security, and Assurance. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity from Virginia Union University. Through my experiences as a Technology Governance Intern at Virginia Credit Union (VACU), I have honed my skills in IT risk assessments, control evaluations, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance. I’ve actively contributed to projects that enhance policy administration, standardize digital libraries, and support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts.I am deeply curious and driven by a desire to solve complex problems, and I thrive in collaborative environments where open communication and teamwork are valued. I’m passionate about staying ahead of the curve in cybersecurity trends, whether through personal projects, ethical hacking challenges on platforms like TryHackMe and Hack The Box, or experimenting with Python and other programming tools to develop automation solutions.Looking ahead, my goal is to gain the necessary experience and build a foundation that will enable me to launch my own cybersecurity and technology company. I aim to contribute significantly to my nation's security infrastructure, developing innovative solutions that address the evolving landscape of cyber threats.Outside of work, I enjoy playing music to clear my mind and maintain balance.
