Engineering Project ManagerNpcc Nov 1995 - May 1998Abu Dhabi Lead engineer for MAERSK OIL QATAR AL SHAHEEN FIELD DEVELOPMENT [PACKAGE-2], which included the central processing facilities at the MOQ Al Shaheen field in QATAR. The eight-legged process platform AB and a new 124 men 4-legged living quarter platform LQ. The AB platform had a heavy topsides facility weighing nearly 5000 t before installation and was installed by float-over method. The engineering was carried out jointly by ABB Lummus Global and NPCC. Responsible for TOTAL ABU AL BUKHOOSH GAS PROJECT for TOTAL ABK’s expansion plan of gas handling facilities at TOTAL ABK field. The project consists of providing a new gas compression facility at KPP platform including associated facilities for separation, cooling and dehydration. Complete revamping of GLP platform for providing additional gas lift facilities and extending the flares to reduce heat radiation. Complete conceptual design and pre bid engineering for the Loading / Unloading Jetty at Oman to handle LNG loading from Oman LNG Plant and Unloading facilities for construction of LNG Plant. Fabrication, load out, transportation and unloading of MSF Evaporators for desalination plant KW-4 Kuwait for MHI Japan. Design, detail engineering, fabrication, load-out, transportation, installation and hook-up of additional accommodation module for ADMA OPCO Umm Shaif Central Complex with verification of the existing module. ADGAS Jetty Longevity Project at Das Island. The project includes complete survey of the jetty to extend its life by 20 years with ABB GLOBAL as design consultant. Pre bid engineering to establish installation methods and feasibility of job execution with in shipping windows to avoid shutdown of the jetty. Lead Structural EngineerNpcc May 1994 - Oct 1995Abu Dhabi Was Lead Structural Engineer for the Ruwais Refinery Berth Expansion Project of ADNOC, AbuDhabi. The project consisted of providing new loading / unloading facilities at Ruwais Refinery Jetty, good for a large range of tankers from 40,000 DWT to 300,000 DWT. The facilities included one loading platform, four breasting dolphins, six mooring dolphins and pipe-way trestles, in water depths of about 20.0m. Was responsible for engineering management at TPG Paris during design phase and during construction engineering at Abudhabi. The project was specifically interesting due to peculiar piling problems in the area. Conceptual design of the fuel unloading jetty for DABHOL POWER PROJECT in India for Bechtel UK The design was based on present offshore industry standard steel construction approach as against regular concrete design due to ease of maintenance and longer life. Bechtel approved the design approach and later the project was awarded to NPCC, only to be postponed till overall project clearance in India. Fabrication, load-out, transportation and Installation related engineering for S1-4 Jacket of S1-Sand Project of ONGC, India. The jacket was installed in about 70 m water depth in Bombay High with DLB 1000. Design of Deck top welding tunnel for DLB-1000 Derrick cum lay Barge to accommodate on-line welding and x-ray stations for pipe laying in inclement weather. Sea-fastening/Transportation of MRJN-4 & ZULF IP6 Decks & Helideck for Saudi ARAMCO. Installation Engineering for upgrading ZADCO's Central Complex and North South Satellites to install additional compression and generation facilities. -
Project ManagerEngineers India Limited Jul 1989 - Apr 1994New Delhi Area, India Detailed conceptual study including techno-economic analysis of various alternatives and cost estimate for Panna Field Development of Oil and Natural Gas Commission of India. Project consisted of a total of 7 well head platforms, interconnecting pipelines along with a central processing cum utility complex, to handle sour well fluid with about 2000 ppm of H2S and a partial pressure of 7 bar of CO2. Various alternative materials of construction for piping and pipeline were studied in the overall feasibility. Overall project management and engineering coordination for Bongaigaon Refinery Expansion Project considering addition of CDU, DCU and downstream de-bottle-necking of facilities and provision of all additional utilities including provision of a captive power plant. The project also included as a separate phase the downstream modifications of the DMT Plant to include Methnolysis process from Krupp Kopper of West Germany to increase catalyst recovery. Basic engineering and preparation of Bid Package for execution of works for Well platforms PB, PD & PE of ONGC. Was also responsible for clarificatory discussions with various bidders and techno-economic evaluation of the bids received. Was later responsible for design, detailed engineering and procurement assistance for PB, PD & PE well Platforms and associated pipeline network for M/S Hindustan shipyard ltd., the successful contender of the project. Also managed a fabrication consultancy team at the same time under a separate contract for the same project. Was responsible for preparing an installation subcontracting bid package for the project and clarificatory discussion with the bidders on behalf of HSL for finalization and award of contract. Responsible for design and detailed engineering of well platform NB Jacket for ONGC. -
Senior Project EngineerEngineers India Limited Jul 1985 - Jun 1989New Delhi Area, India Responsible for design, detail engineering and procurement assistance for IE & IL well platforms and associated pipeline network for ONGC on behalf of Hindustan Shipyard Limited. This was a detailed engineering project for offshore facilities undertaken directly for a construction contractor. Installation of well platforms IE & IL decks, platform, modifications and associated submarine pipelines. Responsibilities included preparation of basic/detailed engineering document discussion with bidders technical evaluation report and execution. Design review for SHP Process Platform project of ONGC. The project consisted of one eight legged process platform one four legged living quarter platform for 124 men, one well-head platform, a flare structure and connecting bridges in a water depth of approx. 65m. Was deputized to HYUNDAI/LUMMUS CREST in Houston USA for design engineering audit on behalf of ONGC. -

Provided assistance for carrying out basic engineering for a six-legged Jacket for SA well cum production (EPS) Platform. Assignment included analysis for Inplace condition, load-out and launch analysis for the above Jacket and finalization of basic drawings for inviting bids on turnkey basis. Provided assistance in detailed engineering for jackets of well platforms MDL-2 & MDL-3.
