    I worked as a research fellow in the Soft Robotics Toolkit project at Harvard Biodesign Lab with Professor Conor Walsh. The goal of the project is to develop engaging tools and resources to educate students of middle to high school about cutting edge research fields like Soft Robotics. I lead the design and development of our first product. Product Development- Conceptualized a three stage robotics module teaching manufacturing, electronics and programming for high school students- Developed a ‘Soft Robotic Gripper’ kit with 3D printed and laser cut plastics, silicone casting, and off the shelf classroom materials- Designed a PCB for actuating the gripper electronically and introduced programming with Arduino and sensors- Developed step-by-step guide and supporting education content suitable for students not highly proficient in English- Collaborated with manufacturers in the US and in India to produce sample kits(50 in nos) and established future partnershipProject Management- Coauthored a whitepaper resulting in a grant from Office of Naval Research and continuing grant from Tata Trusts- Presented my project at 3 seminars to 50 educators and ‘Science and Society’ symposium of Harvard South Asia Institute- Collaborated with schools and science camps for organizing 10 workshops with 150 students in Cambridge and in Delhi

    Worked as a research in AI research lab of Volkswagen with Prof. Patrick van der Smagt. The project aim of the project was to develop Novel Tactile Sensors. I worked with and on the ideas of my colleague Maximillian Karl. I lead the experimentation, designing, and development of the project. -Developed novel high density, low cost, easily reproducible tactile sensors for gathering gripping force data for dexterous manipulation- Prototyped and tested over 10 ideas including optics, metals, and electrochemical based tactile sensing- Final tactile sensors based on materials with piezoelectric effects on silicone background- Designed and printed electronic circuit board to read out 64 taxels in sensor array of fingers- Data of applied forces logged by sensors using MATLAB and National Instruments’ AD Converters- Made a robotic hand, based on OpenHand of GrabLab, equipped with the developed sensors

Did small contributions to the design of the Portable Ultrasound Device. Proposed a few design choices for a universally adaptable bracket for holding ultrasound sensors to be used in prototype testing of the device in an aquarium setting.

We worked in collaboration with Maulana Azad Medical College to develop a CPAP(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) interface for Indian Neonates. - Developed novel CPAP interface for preventing nasal trauma caused to pre-term Indian neonates due to long term CPAP- Conceptualized and prototyped several designs of interfaces and CPAP mechanisms- Final prototype developed as a prong and mask hybrid; validated by medical practitioners at MAMC, Delhi- Project currently under process of design registration with Indian Patent Office, application number: 297908/D/RP/SKB
