Embedded Software Engineer
Current- Collaborated with senior engineer to implement safety-critical embedded C++ firmware for fault detection of self-driving vehicles, ensuring the prompt detection of over 35 critical operational faults.- Led the conversion of 14 internal C++ projects from older ROS1 robotics framework to newer ROS2 frameworks, and 5 embedded C++ projects from older in-house frameworks and practices to newer.- Upgraded all internal end-of-line product testers by modifying existing tester hardware and creating new QA-specific device firmware, halving per-device testing time and drastically increasing QA throughput.- Implemented an efficient firmware upgrade process for multi-processor embedded platforms, eliminating per-processor firmware mismatch and simplifying updates for end users.Designed and implemented a failure-resistant embedded C++ driver for CAN human-interface peripherals.- Reverse-engineered various OEM vehicle CAN messages and documented each into human-readable structures.
