The creative friction between theory and praxis inspires me and has always been able to spark passion inside of me. Even more so, if people are involved who can get into situations, in which they seem impotent and powerless: When I was a university student activated by the arms race, I decided to volunteer in extracurricular activities and thereby gathered first experiences in public relations, event management, and educational marketing. I found my first job in politics which brought me to America. Working in the US House of Representatives, my dissertation project on the Haitian refugee crisis took shape and came to fruition when I did research in New York´s Haitian exile community. From being engaged in the transfer of knowledge as Assistant Professor, Program Director and Freelancer it was no big step to turn towards non-profit causes as a fundraiser. My freelance work led me to the social sector, where I worked for a charity as Public Relations Manager, reporting on the valuable pedagogical work in aid of children, youth, and families. My next career step involved working in the public health sector by building up from scratch the fundraising activities of a non-profit clinic in Munich. My versatile interests and my multifaceted career made an allrounder out of me who also takes advantage of Social Media to inform the interested public.
