The Greater New York Councils is one of the nation's most prominent youth development organizations. The Council’s mission and programs serve young people by enabling them to develop healthy habits; teaching a lifelong appreciation of physical and personal fitness, including the prevention of bullying; instilling environmental stewardship and sustainability; and providing leadership development and STEM Education. Thomas' responsibilities included: District Director (Jan 2013 - Nov 2014) - Brooklyn NY• Led the Council’s annual strategic goal setting process, interfacing directly with the organization’s board of directors and key stakeholders• Led the implementation of the organization’s Growth Development Campaigns (GDCs), which included Special Events, Annual Giving, Grants and a number of community-specific initiatives• Led team of five employees with the primary responsibility of achieving the Council’s fundraising, membership and programming goals• Led the design and implementation (concept-to-reality) of a New York City internship program to enhance recruiting (size and diversity of talent pool) and development of promising young executives• Served as Editor of citywide newsletter circulated to thousands of prominent civic and business leaders, organizations and educators (print and digital)District Executive (Jun 2010 - Dec 2012) - Bronx, NY• Participated in the identification of programming opportunities in underserved Bronx communities and led the Scout Leader recruiting and training efforts to deliver on Programming goals• Restructured the Bronx’s Fundraising Campaigns through targeted outreach to local business and community leaders to cultivated new and existing relationships• Led the recruiting and training efforts to establish the Council’s Bronx Board of Directors and foster collaboration and growth across educational, financial and social partners

The school is famous for its high standard teaching and learning program, especially the Intensive English Program which is widely accepted throughout the country.Thomas’ responsibilities included: • Worked collaboratively across cultures producing an evaluation system for students’ disparate language abilities • Provided administrative and organizational support helping promote the institution’s efforts becoming a dual-language accredited institution. • Successfully implemented comprehensive ESL curriculum for year-long course through the use of progressive and well-founded methodologies

The Mayor's Community Assistance Unit (CAU) focused on establishing relationships and partnerships between the Mayor’s office and disparate stakeholders. Liaising between the city and its denizens, the CAU sought to mobilize public and private agents, neighborhood associations, and civic groups around community issues, crime, and public initiatives such as PlaNYC. Thomas' responsibilities included: • Presented and lectured on the mayor’s PlaNYC initiative to various stakeholders to help improve the city’s environmental stability • Enhanced positive public relations between the mayor and his constituents through public speaking forums and panels
