The Mayor's Community Assistance Unit (CAU) focused on establishing relationships and partnerships between the Mayor’s office and disparate stakeholders. Liaising between the city and its denizens, the CAU sought to mobilize public and private agents, neighborhood associations, and civic groups around community issues, crime, and public initiatives such as PlaNYC.
