Start Up Loans Company is a high profile government-funded scheme, providing loans, mentoring and support for entrepreneurs. The scheme has funded over 20,000 start-ups to date and lent over £100 million.I worked in the founding team to get the initiative off the ground in 2012. Successes include:• Spearheading strategic partnerships with large corporates (e.g. eBay, Intuit, Regus) to support the programme which have led to over £1.5 million of cost savings to date for Start-Up Loans entrepreneurs. Oversaw on-going management of relationships.• Devised and implemented a strategy around second stage funding for Start Up Loans entrepreneurs to support them in the next stage of growth through strategic partnerships with appropriate funding providers (mainly alternative finance providers). Negotiated and managed a partnership with a major UK bank to secure further funding for loan recipients.• Established a team to deliver a UK-wide business support training through a network of business coaches, advisors and partners. This has supported over 2,000 entrepreneur attendees with the key skills they need to grow their businesses, including access to further funding through alternative business finance.• Developed key relationships with industry stakeholders and with academic organisations (including Warwick, London School of Economics) to support in programme social impact research and analysis.

Set up the UK's first QR Code card playing platform where advertisers could promote their services on the front of each number with a QR code that could be scanned to drive users back to their promotion on mobile. Advertisers included Olympus, Bacardi, Just Eat, Amazon, and many others. Our first and only campaign successfully distributed 50,000 packs of branded playing cards to universities around the UK.
