Used signal processing and machine learning techniques to perform discrimination and classification of objects in a scene based on features computed from their IR and RF.

PI: Dr. Enrique MalladaUsed frequency demodulation techniques to extract information from carrier waves. Modeled multi-load power systems and simulated voltage collapse in response to power demand. Developed, in MATLAB, reactionary algorithms for power loads to prevent voltage collapse. Co-authored a paper submitted to the 2019 American Control Conference.

Conducted experiments on grain structures to study material stress in response to compaction. Performed computed tomography and reconstruction on X-Ray images using python. Segmented 3D images in MATLAB, both homogenous grains and fractured particles.

Wrote scripts to process, segment, and analyze cell and colloid clusters in collected microscopic imagery. Developed algorithms for cell processing using morphological image processing methods. Created models to predict point spread on actual 3D images.

Acted as representative for the program for callers and visitors to the building. Provided audio / visual support for classes, delivered necessary material. Performed general office tasks (databasing, copying, filing of material).

The goal for LONZA was to develop an application to detect foreign particles and cells in biological samples (a task performed manually at the time). Algorithms were prototyped on MATLAB for segmentation and analysis of collected imagery using phase contrast microscopy. A device was built both for mixing and imaging the samples using different imaging.

Studied Microgrid simulation using MATLAB and GridLAB-D. Built robots using Mindstorms parts, then programmed them using LabView to perform a set of defined tasks. Projects were researched, developed, and presented myself.
