Worked as an onsite business analyst and solution designer on a massive program for replacement of a legacy mainframe-based PSS (Passenger Service System) with a scalable multi-tenant solution built on SOA principles and intended for 150+ airlines worldwide. The areas I contributed to include Schedule Change, Seats Availability, Flight Connections, MCTs, ISSRs, integration with RMS and DCS.- Significantly elaborated the requirements provided by remote Product Definition team in the form of business use cases. This includes creation of detailed system use case descriptions, acceptance tests, non-functional requirements, UML diagrams, screen specifications, WSDL & XML Schema web service contracts.- Elicited the requirements during phone interviews and on-site workshops, and subsequently created use case descriptions from scratch.- Worked out and documented solution designs, screen wireframes and database schemas in collaboration with software architects, UI/UX experts and DBAs.- Explained the requirements to the offshore development teams and provided feedback during demonstrations of the implemented functionality.- Actively participated in development planning, which included decomposition of high-level requirements into epics and user stories, identification of dependencies, prioritization and assignment of user stories to offshore teams.

- Hired and led 9 requirements analysts, each supporting a Scrum team of developers and testers.- Quickly learned the air travel domain (including IATA SSIM and AIRIMP standards) during on-site workshops with the customer and subsequently conducted online and on-site trainings for distributed Scrum teams.- As a member of the Core team, played the key role in planning of Agile iterations and stages, taking into account functional dependencies between PSS components (including those delivered by other vendors), capacity of the teams, their specialisation and readiness of the requirement specifications. - Introduced the backlog for tracking and prioritisation of user stories, and stage workflow charts for identification of any cross-team dependencies.- Stabilised the flow of the requirements under the pressure of ongoing team ramp up and initially poor availability of stakeholders on the customer side.- Established a framework for estimation of the requirements using Mark II software sizing methodology.

The company was experiencing problems because of undocumented requirements for their market leading ERP system widely used by construction companies in the UK, US, Australia and Middle East.- Designed a new Occupational Health and Safety module complying with international labour standards.- Controlled the scope of incoming change requests and addressed them in requirements specifications.- Initiated functional decomposition of the entire ERP system and modelled the key business processes. This provided a solid foundation for further reverse engineering of the requirements continued after I left.

As a member of a single Agile team I was working on React – a new web-based POS application enabling store assistants of a major mobile phone operator to serve clients in-store. My responsibilities were:- analysis, elicitation and specification of the system requirements- reverse engineering of requirements for non-documented components of the application- handling the ongoing change requests- acting as a subject matter expert for the team and collaboration with UK-based product owners during daily calls and recurring planning gamesNotable accomplishment: completed full cycle of requirements analysis for a significant component of the application which automated in-store contract renewals of T-Mobile subscribers. The project included integration with T-Mobile’s billing system, CRM system and cash register software. Tens of thousands renewal transactions were registered in several hundred stores countrywide during the first month after going into production.

At that position, I was managing web application projects for USA-based customers. Due to the small size of the team, my duties also included requirements analysis & specification, quality control, writing proposals and performing market research. The most notable project was for complete re-engineering of a consumer electronics online store implemented by a Scrum team of 3 developers.- Designed an efficient workflow of orders bringing down average order processing time to one business day.- Introduced requirements management discipline into the company.
