We established Sivil Alan Hareket Ağı based on what we have experiences as volunteers and as well as staff member of NGOs/INGOs after the devastating 6th of February earthquakes. We have witnessed the power of civil initiatives and individuals who have accomplished a lot during the initial months. Considering the increased natural disasters due to climate change and as well as increase on the man made disasters, the current humanitarian system will not be able to respond all these crises on time. Additionally, the current approach of the humanitarian system is not working well enough and needs to adapt to the changing context of humanitarian crises. A new humanitarian approach is possible which needs to be based on the localization and do no harm principles. With that idea and dream, we have established Sivil Alan Hareket Ağı to bridge between civil initiatives, affected communities and individuals with the resources they need to increase their unique impact. Sivil Alan Hareket Ağı provides a safe intellectual and physical space for civil initiatives, NGOs, INGOs, individuals and all other actors in Hatay to learn from each other, develop networks to strengthen solidarity.
