Soieries du Mékong was originally a NGO project that we've transformed and structured into a social business.Soieries du Mékong designs, markets and sells very high end silk scarves and accessories for men and women. Every single item is handwoven by our craftpersons.Our scarves are sold online and in almost 100 high end stores in Europe and Asia - including le Bon Génie in Geneva (https://www.bongenie-grieder.ch/) or La Compagnie Française de l'Orient et de la Chine in Paris (www.cfoc.fr), Soieries du Mékong also customized scarves for prestigious clients like the Edmond de Rothschild Group.The company's social mission is to empower young women in remote areas in Cambodia by training them and offering them jobs with good working conditions and individual follow-up. In 2007, Soieries du Mékong was a NGO project created 6 years before that aimed to train weaving skills to young underprivileged women. The center produced for a few clients in France and in Cambodia.I joined the organization to lead the training and production center, that hired 45 persons at that time.I was in charge of making sure the beneficiaries received a good quality training, which included weaving techniques, but also Khmer language, maths, and financial litteracy.On the other hand, I had to make sure the orders from our clients were respected, while developping the sales in the country.

As a financial analyst, I was assisting the Project Finance and Large Corporate Portfolios Manager. These clients formed the major clients of BNP Paribas in Portugal.My responsibilities were to assess our clients' financial situation, propose to our clients possible solutions and draft financial proposals to the bank's credit commities.
