As Citibank acquired Banco Uno de Guatemala, I was repositioned as Collections Internal Control Coordinator, along with a small team of direct reports. From there we oversaw new policy adaptations and implementations, action plan remediations from audits. I was also acting as audit liason with regional representatives to gather and provide information and in charge of implementing controls in every collection process. Continuing with a risk based approach, I was named Fraud Prevention Manager in charge of overseeing fraud prevention strategy, managing a small team locally with support from a monitoring team in a neighboring country. Along with the Risk Manager, we developed a new onboarding strategy to prevent fraud and defaulting customers, which we saw bear fruit aproximately 1 year after implementation. Afterwards I was in charge of Compliance Policy and Risk, where a new corporate methodolgy was implemented in the Compliance Area. Also all compliance processes were reviewed, redefined, streamlined and then properly documented. Also was in charge of all audit requests, and follow up. As an Compliance Officer Deputy i oversaw all thing related to Anti Money Laundering, which translates to transaction monitoring and reporting. As such, we had monitoring support from an American team, who escalated cases to resolve locally and if necessary report to the regulator. Part of my work experience is adapting to new work cultures and systems, in which it was displayed when Banco Promerica aquired Citibank. As a Compliance Manager, I oversar matters related to Compliance and Anti Money Laundering. In Banco GYT Continental, as Regional Compliance Manager, I was in charge of implementing headquarters policies and procedures in branches in El Salvador, Panama and Costa Rica, as well as reporting to the Board of Directors all of AML and Compliance performance KPIs.
