Manager Of Education
Current• Manages and coaches a team of up to sixteen staff members across three roles including Education Specialists, Art Studio Facilitators, and various internships. Coordinates team development strategies, individual goal setting and completion, and project management.• Conducts onboarding and training for new Education Staff, including role and expectation setting for over 20 internal museum programs and a variety of outreach programs. Coaches staff on the development and coordination of these individually assigned projects.• Tracks and manages budgets for various budgets, ranging from large grant programs to specific events and activities.• Leads outreach efforts with at-need schools, childcare centers, and community organizations through professional development programs, community festivals and events, field trip scholarships, free museum visits, and in-school activities.• Directly conducts professional development training in-person for up to 100 attendees per day, and virtually for up to 200 attendees per day.• Spearheads a flagship grant program to deploy curriculum targeted to the needs of traditionally marginalized and low-income schools and childcare centers. Coordinates recruitment and application process and nurtures pivotal relationships with community stakeholders at schools in Lake and Cook counties. Facilitates teacher interactions and engagement through the duration of the program, incorporating feedback for participant-centered improvements. Assessed post-program impact to grow the program from 40 annual participants to 90 participants in one year. • Participates in the Accessibility, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to facilitate program accessibility and develop policies rooted in Anti-Racism. • Collaborates with various museum departments to grow a variety of outreach and accessibility programs, including free museum admission days for various communities, including children and families with disabilities and military families.
