• Compliance of Server Licensing statusUpdating and providing analytics around server license and subscription compliance to validate patching availability, servers requiring licenses and/or subscriptions are redirected to the Software Asset Management Team.• Reporting on End of Life Operating SystemsUpdating and providing analysis around upcoming OS versions which are approaching the end of their support lifecycle. These analytics will be used to assist with quotes around Extended Lifecyle Support (ELS), as well as review costing between upgrading OS versions vs continuation costs of support via ELS• Managing the High/Critical Patching ProgramReporting and Analysis around High/Critical patching assisting in identifying the Business Service, Product Owner, Support team and Business Service Tier• PowerBI DashboardingFeeding reports around Compliance and ELS as part of the PowerBI Dashboard

Duties include:• Managing user software requests end to end from requesting a quote from resellers/vendors, to gathering information for procurement from the end users and raising the purchase order (PO)• Managing Software Licensing/Subscription transfers between end users• Acting as a mediator between our resellers/vendors and the customer on product/subscriptions/licensing/software quotes – as well as requesting payment information and approvals from customers for these items• Providing Licensing Positioning reporting for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server across Telstra. This information would be then used to procure subscriptions and licenses• Run software compliance checks on newly deployed servers to ensure that they are fully licensed and their subscriptions are current before allowing them to be brought into production• Liaising with SUSE every quarter to discuss Licensing positioning for SLES

Duties included:• Maintaining information and data accuracy within the CMDB• Liaising with Application Managers, understanding their requirements and working through end to end processes with them to insure their Business Services are correctly set up within the CMDB• Contributing to the BMC Discovery roll out, this was done via liaising with level 3 hardware and OS support teams to insure that each supported server had the Discovery account instated and also insuring that the server was accessible via the Discovery tool through this account, during my term in this role we had successfully scanned and delivered information for over 25,000 servers • Managing Discovery reconciliation tasks into the CMDB. Information which was collated into the Discovery database would be transferred into the CMDB were records were automatically updated to insure CMDB accuracy.• Providing reporting using Discovery to Risk Operations regarding patching issues, to identify vulnerable servers• Providing reporting using Discovery for Licensing/Subscription purposes, information on particular products, such as processor types, number of processors etc. is vital to maintaining software currency• Liaising with Level 3 Support Teams to insure the Discovery account is maintained on servers so that we can continue refreshing data delivered into Discovery.

Duties had included:• Working with IBM on Single Sign On Deployment across IT Operations• Organizing funding for project activities such as Alarm Monitoring, Firewall Burns, etc.• Maintaining information and scorecards regarding how many servers the SSO project had been deployed onto, and how many where outstanding. This information had included which Servers would require firewall burns and which network each server was located within.• Work with Operation Readiness to ensure that the Single Sign on infrastructure meets all requirements to be deployed into production and chase up and outstanding issues.• Liaise with Application Managers who manage servers to organise SSO roll out within their Change Windows and/or during server maintenance• Provide monthly reporting on Server up times and liaise with Application managers to ensure servers are scheduled for a sanity reboot• Organize reporting for Firewall Burns that detailed the number of servers within each network and work with security to ensure that servers used for SSO are able to access these servers. During my secondment I assisted to ensure that SSO could migrate 2982 Hosts out of the 3198 Hosts within the project scope
