Design and build core Line of Business data entry and associated Business Intelligence /MI Reporting database.

Major global retailer, founded in 1919, currently has 6000+ stores worldwide and 3500+ in the UK. Contracted as a Database Analyst / Developer to analyse employee process data from the stores. Then developed a new database suite to improve efficiency of the Retail Industrial Engineers methods, (whose role is to measure the time taken for each employee action in an individual store to the second, build new and improve existing staff payroll models). Worked as part of a team of 12 including an IT Manager, Industrial Engineers and Developers. Development over the full project life-cycle using Agile / Scrum methodologies. Responsibilities:• Design, develop, and document Access databases to improve productivity models for the Bakery, Product, Suppliers, Merchandising and Master Data using Agile/Scrum methods.• Worked as part of a development team working in the area of Stores Productivity incorporating enhancements based on ideas provided by the Engineers• Liaise with stakeholders and engineers to design and create MOST (Maynard work measurement time and motion database) in MS Access using VBA and SQL.• Analyse and extract data from multiple sources, databases, flat files, CSV’s, Excel, Teradata and SAS• Map Data, create data flows, structure, transform and clean data from multiple sources using DTS / ETL processes and transferring to the Bakery, Product, Suppliers, Merchandising and Master Data databases.• Create full text search functions and SQL queries for exception reports• Automate the import and export of large multiple sheet Excel workbooks into Access databases• Design and develop automatic email, PDF creation and functionality for offsite use as well as available from any store location• Continuous Quality Assurance and UAT of data• Develop top layer database with user login system, linked table copy and refresh functions• Develop a Split database to enable back end updates automatically across network

PRGX (Profit Recovery Group) formerly PRG Schultz is the largest global retail auditing recovery company. Specialising in the analysis of data and subsequent recovery of hidden revenue for from major global blue chip companies. Clients in the UK include Sainsbury, Tesco, CPW, Costco. Employed as a Data Analyst (Acquisition Specialist) to obtain clients data, analysing, mapping and preparing for specialised auditing. Part of a team of 6 including a Data Systems Manager and Business Information Analysts (BIA).Responsibilities:• Liaise with auditors, clients and stakeholders to obtain the correct financial, warehouse and email data for recovery audits• Analyse clients’ data storage to determine data required depending on clients system including (SQL Server, SAP, Oracle / Financials, AS400, JDE, JDA, Teradata, and bespoke systems)• Project manage the full life cycle of each project i.e. requirement gathering, data acquisition meetings, data acquisition, data loading, data analysis, data mapping, data processing, and delivery to in-house audit within strict time scales.• Ensure projects met required audit dates, key stages, milestones and timelines. • Assess workload and timelines to prioritise projects for self processing or delegation to other team members to meet audit required date deadline• Liaise with offshore Development, Data Loading and BIA teams in India and the USA• Analyse clients’ data: Accounts Payable, Line item, Accounts Receivable, EPOS, Promotions• Use data dictionaries, case studies, and data samples to determine requirements • Data analysis of databases, table structures and creation of mapping documents to format data• Use SQL Server 2008 / 2005, Store Procedures and Functions, T-SQL, ETL, SSIS, SSRS, DTS, MS Access 2010, Excel, VBA to standardise data and prepare data for specific standardised audit required formats.

continued,,,,• Document data processes, coding and standards for offshore processing• Create in-house data dictionaries for clients’ data on the in-house Citrix / Zen desktop platform• Design and develop in-house tools using SQL Server and MS Access, for speeding up data interrogation and reporting options for auditors• Undertake User Acceptance Testing of data from onshore and offshore BIA’s• Quality control of output data from BIA’s before submission for final audit.• Create cleansed and normalised Master Data files for return to clients in SQL Server or Access database format, Excel, or CSV formats (blue chip companies data being audited) • Design and create an automated reporting system in MS Access front end and SQL Server back end to compare the count from the clients data report of sent FTP files, against the count of actual received files uploaded to the FTP server each day.
