Responsible for leading organisational-wide strategic projects including the re-design of our client referral and intake processes; use of interpreters and contracts with interpreter agencies; allied health; Achievements:- Established and rolled-out video consultation capability across cohealth’s services, which enabled the continuation of service during COVID - Organised the commencement of online booking of medical appointments- Established new procedures for using interpreters and negotiated new arrangements with interpreting agencies which reduced annual expenditure by $250,000 (19%)- Worked with an IT colleague to create cohealth’s Services Directory that includes a Google-like search function and enables easy referral directly into any of the 400 services listed

Related to workforce planning, I was responsible for GP, nursing and administrative staffing of 13 COVID testing and 4 primary care clinics, as well as temporary mobile clinics and health concierge staff at 6 cohealth centres. I organised redeployment of staff, conducted large scale rapid recruitment and built relationships with external GPs and nursing agencies to access additional support.Then I led multiple teams that prevented COVID outbreaks in high risk residential settings (e.g. areas of high density), and prepare and supports residents and owners if there was an outbreak. My teams also engaged communities to promote COVID safe behaviour and support access to health services.

I was responsible for all programmes relating to chronic disease, allied health, children’s health and parenting, youth support services, aged care, counselling, social work, residential mental health, victims of crime assistance and family violence, refugee health, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. This encompassed 26 teams and over 250 staff. I had five senior managers reporting to me and was a member of cohealth’s Executive Leadership Team.Achievements:• Established mechanisms to monitor performance against targets at clinician and team level that assisted improvement against target from 86% to 93% in a few months.• Directed a re-allocation and refurbishment of space in one of our health centres to enable the establishment of a new model for physiotherapy and exercise physiology that greatly increased capacity and outcomes for clients.

I managed four teams encompassing public health promotion, refugee and asylum seeker health, client intake and assessment, and community mental health service planning for cohealth and three other agencies in north western Melbourne. Combined, these teams had 60 staff and a budget of AUD$4.5m. I managed partnerships with other agencies, funders and government to influence policy and health program developmentIndividually, I led the development and implementation of two organisational wide strategies: health literacy; and gender equity and family violence. I was a member of cohealth’s Senior Management Team.Key achievements:• Trebled the capacity of a health promotion program which then won the national Australian Human Rights award for tackling race-based discrimination.• Developed and implemented cohealth’s first organisational-wide health literacy plan that made cohealth national leaders in this area. • Developed an evaluation framework for multiple programmes to report outcomes at a team and aggregated level.

I was a full-time consultant managing and reviewing VSO Cambodia's existing programmes in health, education, livelihoods, good governance and international citizenship. My review sharpened the focus and cohesion of these programmes, whilst developing plans to increase the scale of them that successfully attracted funding from international aid agencies such as UNICEF and European Union. I also completed a review of staffing structure implementing changes and was a member of the Senior Management Team.

I was a VSO adviser who was placed with NEP to build the management, research and advocacy capacity of NEP and the 100+ other education NGOs that are members of NEP. I help NEP conduct research into education issues and work with the Government and development organisations such as UNICEF and the World Bank, to develop education policy and implementation.- Influenced the Government’s policy on teachers’ salaries so that primary school teachers’ wage is now nearly equal to that of lower secondary school teachers- Developed a new system for distributing school budgets, which I helped the Government to pilot. NEP are now working with Government to expand the pilot nationwide. - Influenced the Government’s policy on the desired number of primary school teachers meaning that they have increased the numbers to be recruited annually

I managed policy and parliamentary affairs for both charities to influence health and social care policy. I built relationships with Ministers, senior opposition politicians, civil servants, local authorities and media representatives writing reports and briefing papers for them. I was a member of the Minister’s Social Care Task Force and managed the Strategic Partnership with the Department of Health for the charities. My research was also published in a peer-reviewed journal.Key achievements:- The Government adopted my policy recommendations resulting in an extra £400m for the specific sub-sector the organisation worked in- I assisted political parties write their policies on health issues before a general election- I managed campaigns that were discussed in Parliament and covered by national TV and radio programmes, and newspapers

I managed a UK wide team of four people focussing on major donor and event fundraising. I managed 3 fundraising campaign boards and recruited new donors giving £10,000+ p/a.
