NLK Consulting is a new business with a deep heritage and is named after three entrepreneurs of pulp and paper consulting, Wayne Nystrom, Wayne Lee and Tom Kobayashi. They were excellent engineers and creative forward thinkers. Former employees who have worked with the founders have banded together to resurrect NLK as a group that provides techno-economic analyses, strategic planning and advisory services to the Pulp and Paper, Bioenergy/materials and related process based industries

Mr. Floe’s project focus has been in managing engagements involving due diligence, risk analysis, and assessments of facility viability and asset po-tential. He recently co-led an industry expert engagement for Canada Trade Law, defending a pulp mill NAFTA claim arising from provincial energy policies. Other recent projects include viability studies of shuttered pulp and paper mills in Quebec and BC, risk of closure assessments on behalf of a timberland owner, of pulpwood/residual consuming pulp/paper/OSB facilities, conversion risk analysis of integrated uncoated freesheet mills, due diligence support re: tissue and paperboard target ac-quisitions.Recent bioenergy studies include fuel supply, fatal flaw assessment of proponent proposals for BC Hydro phase II call for bio power, develop-ment of a strategic plan for the township of Fort St James in northern BC, assessment on the impact of the US Biomass Crop Assistance Program on Canadian forest product producers.
