I have been working and moving around the insurance industry for well over 30 years. In these 30 years, I have seen the many changes that have taken place in the industry. Yet as I survey these changes, I could not help but noticed that something didn’t quite keep up with the changing times – the training and development of agency managers. The struggles and challenges are still being handled like they were back 30 years ago. There are many sophisticated trainings for agents but almost none for agency managers.In my opinion, the agency managers are the most neglected group of people in term of training and development opportunities, yet they are the most essential group of people in the whole eco-system of the insurance industry.
