Develop and provide instruction to state and local law enforcement and public safety executives with courses in personnel; legal liability; budgeting & finance, leadership & decision making. These courses are dynamic, and consist of lecture, reading assignments, practical exercises and are designed to enhance a student's knowledge and skills in a challenging academic environment. I have taught over 400 executives in this program. -I continue to serve as both an FBI Academy adjunct instructor and Georgia Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST) certified instructor. In these positions, I deliver training students in FBI continuing education courses and students at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Academy (GPTSC).

-Supervisor and Team Leader for the FBI Atlanta Division's Crisis Negotiation Team for over 19 years. This team deployed on over 200 missions into crisis/barricade/SWAT situations. Our team was responsible for the safe release of dozens of people and the safe arrests of over 150 armed and dangerous suspects. Developed a basic training course in crisis negotiations for state and local partners that became the template for the FBI's delivery of such training. -FBI's Deputy On-Scene Commander in Afghanistan and responsible for FBI operations and logistics for the entire country. I interfaced and represented the FBI to the U.S. Military, other U.S. agencies, our allies, and Afghan government officials. -Acting FBI Supervisor and Senior Resident Agent for the Columbus, GA Resident Agency. As such, closely coordinated with a multitude of local, state, federal, and military law enforcement and intelligence partners. Worked on a nearly daily basis with the Columbus Police Department and Muscogee County Sheriff's Office on hundreds of complex investigations. -While serving in Columbus, I supervised and led an investigation into a corrupt Sheriff's Office, which resulted in the arrest of every deputy and investigator. All were convicted in federal court. Led a multi-jurisdictional task force including FBI, DEA, and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents. This case is one example of hundreds of complex, long-term investigations led and managed to successful conclusion. -Led, managed, and supervised the FBI Southwest Georgia Safe Streets & Gang Task Force. This task force was comprised of FBI agents, police officers and sheriff’s deputies and was responsible for the dismantlement and incarceration of a violent criminal street gang that plagued Valdosta, Ga.-FBI Academy Adjunct Instructor, providing training to local, state, federal and military partners, both domestically and internationally in a variety of topics, including leadership & crisis resolution.

-Served as a patrol deputy in a high-crime area, responded to calls for service, assisted citizens, investigated violations of local and state laws. Interviewed witnesses, victims, suspects and prepared reports. Collected evidence and arrested suspects. Provided traffic control and investigated motor vehicle accidents. Also provided on the job training as a field training deputy to newly hired officers. -Served as a detective in the White Collar Crime/Fraud Unit; Robbery Unit; and Homicide Unit. As a detective, responded to a myriad of crime scenes. Collected evidence, interviewed witnesses, victims and suspects. Processed violent and complex crime scenes. -As a homicide detective, was responsible for the investigation of all murders, suicides and accidental non-motor vehicle deaths in Hillsborough County. Coordinated processing of evidence, witness interviews and lab reports and ensuring same were correctly completed and forwarded to the appropriate prosecutive authority. Testified in complex and high profile court proceedings and trials. Assigned to a serial killer task force that was responsible for the investigation of the murders of several women in the Tampa area. -Sheriff's Office hostage negotiator, as such, responded to calls for service involving persons holding hostages or persons against their will; suicidal persons; barricaded suspects and individuals in crisis. Used descalation techniques to successfully and safely resolve the situation without loss of life.
