I’m Gordon, currently working as a master student in Applied Linguistics and an English teacher. As for my research context, convinced of the importance of language testing, I have a keen interest in the washback effects of language assessments, which is also the research topic of my master thesis. On top of that, I have also developed my research interests in metaphor studies and cognitive linguistics.As to my English teaching experience, I have been working as an ESL teacher for more than five years. The students I have taught range from high school students to college students. Their goals also vary from getting a high score on tests, like TOEIC or CEE, to simply improving English speaking, critical reading or composition skills. Having been teaching different students with different learning purposes, I have also been quite familiar with a variety of pedagogical methods or styles.As mentioned, my research interest is highly associated with my career, and I have been dedicated to making the new paradigm of language teaching incorporated into the classroom. I also take great delight in my current position as a linguistic researcher (MA student) and an English teacher.
