About Gordon Palmer

My name is Gordon Palmer. I am currently finishing up my Library and Information Technician Diploma at Mohawk College. For the last 6 years I have worked at the Collingwood Public Library and my current position there is Technology Coordinator. In this position I oversee and maintain everything related to technology at the library. In addition to this role, I oversee educational initiatives to promote digital literacy in the community by offering workshops and one-on-one training sessions. Prior to my role as a librarian, I was a graphic designer and worked in developing educational programs and textbooks for college-based accounting courses. Along with this I also have a certificate in Teaching and Training Adults. My background has given me a unique set of skills, which I enjoy utilizing in my job and am I happy to see my initiatives help battle the digital divide in our community.
