Gordon Stevenson Work Experience Details
  • Vexev
    Machine Learning Engineer
    Vexev Jun 2022 - Present
    Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
  • University Of New South Wales
    Postdoctoral Research Fellow
University Of New South Wales Nov 2015 - Mar 2022
    Sydney, Australia
Led the inception, experimentation and offline processing of data acquired in a large animal study for validation of a non-invasive 3D ultrasound-based imaging measure of perfusion versus fluorescent microspheres. Oversaw $100K AUD study whilst visiting and in collaboration with Basic Radiology Sciences Group, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA (Feb-May 2017).I forged the establishment of new links between pre-clinical imaging, biomedical and mechanical engineering groups with our clinical research team. We have developed new ways to validate functional ultrasound imaging using in-silica and ex-vivo models and applied these techniques to clinical imaging of the fetus and neonate.
  • Cambridge University Hospitals Nhs Foundation Trust
    Computer Science Research Associate
Cambridge University Hospitals Nhs Foundation Trust Oct 2013 - Oct 2015
    Cambridge, United Kingdom
    • Data processing and analysis of time-series data from clinical monitoring of preterm infants in the neonatal intensive care unit.• Built bespoke analysis tools to better understand and study relationships between cerebral bloodflow and blood pressure.• Correlation between data signals (using partial coherence & linear correlation) showed significant differences in patient outcome.
  • Mirada Medical
    Research Scientist
    Mirada Medical Oct 2012 - Sep 2013
    Oxford, United Kingdom
    • Technology Strategy Board project investigating large-scale atlas selection for auto-contouring of CT volumes.
  • University Of Oxford
    Dphil Biomedical Engineering Student
University Of Oxford Oct 2008 - Oct 2012
    • Developed and built new medical image analysis tools for investigating placental function in early pregnancy for use as a screening test of fetal growth restriction.• Engineering responsibilities included implementation of segmentation tools for volumetric 3D data, the first algorithm for standardised assessment of placenta function using 3D power Doppler ultrasound and a patented method using mesh warping to better visualise the utero-placental interface.• Tools developed led to award lecture at International Placental Associations Meeting, 2012. Functional measurement results were awarded two best paper awards at UOG World Congress, 2012. Techniques were validated and shown to be reproducible and predictive of poor patient outcome.• Ideas and methods built during my DPhil were subsequently awarded significant NIH funding fordevelopment of fully automated tools for placental structural and functional assessment using 3D ultrasound. These methods under-development will be available to all interested researchers using open-source software.
  • Genzyme
    Intern
    Genzyme Jul 2007 - Sep 2007
Saltire Foundation funded 8 week work placement. Worked in manufacturing division for large biotechnology firm, focussed on database and ASP .NET programming with an aim to improving the content of the companies drug manufacturing database system.
