My initial training and hands-on experience working with Historic Scotland and Heritage Engineering stood me in good stead to understand the engineering industry and build on my engineering education. I joined Royal HaskoningDHV in 2006 and have been involved with a variety of projects from surveys and inspections of mechanical plant and equipment across a variety of industries. Projects have been based in the UK and overseas and generally consisting of onsite construction supervision support, commissioning and testing, factory acceptance witness tests and office based design, review, and contract support for mechanical equipment and systems for the ports, shipyards, process and industrial related sectors.Systems designed include; firefighting pumps and site distribution, water pumps storage and distribution, bulk oxygen & acetylene storage and site distribution, compressed air site distribution. Certified as an IEC Ex CoPC I undertake hazardous area inspections and risk assessments for a variety of clients who require the correct documentation in place to satisfy the regulations. This experience has proven invaluable in the design of mechanical process plant and equipment for other projects
