Worked closely with private investor and attorney in overseeing various commercial real estate projects owned, including refinancing of assets occupied by national credit tenants; leasing issues with credit tenants; analysis of operating agreements with institutional capital partners; ongoing compliance issues and joint ventures with governmental agencies; coordination with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) regarding landlord/retail concerns.Evaluated term sheets and proposals for new investments, both in real estate as well as technology. Met with technology entrepreneurs and outside real estate consultants to discuss asset acquisitions as well as technology applications in real estate.

Summer Law Clerk Specialized in the Litigation division. Contributed substantial portions to an opposition to a motion for summary judgment, which included researching and writing about complex and novel areas of law. Involved in all aspects of the litigation process, including filing complaints, extensive discovery (drafted RFA’s, ROG’s, motions to compel), opposed motions, participated in depositions, and pre-trial prep. Worked on cases in both federal and California state court.

Law Clerk Assisted Holocaust survivors in securing and maintaining reparations issued by the German government. Handled other legal issues for Holocaust survivors, including the drafting of legal memoranda on issues such as the probability of success for their appeals as well as communicated closely with clients.

Law Clerk Drafted various trial motions including restitution and probation orders as well as office memoranda. Performed extensive research on criminal proceedings with an emphasis on Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights. Interviewed clients at Salinas County Jail. Appeared alongside counsel in several preliminary trials. Regularly observed trials, jury selections, and motion hearings.
