In this role I was responsible for ensuring all parts of the end to end process for our Promotional cycles instore as well as the set up. My day-to-day involves working with all aspects of the business including Retail, Supply, Marketing, Distribution & Merchandising to ensure everything launches on time for stores and ultimately our customers.With a company focus of setting our people free to serve, a key aim of the role is to analyse all parts of the process involved in my area of responsibility to see what we can simplify and ultimately remove from the store, dc and office teams day to day job to ensure as much time as possible is spent serving our customers.

Promoted to a new role assisting the area manager or north 2 in there role of area manager over seeing 19 stores. Supporting and guiding stores where needed and ensuring the company business agenda is accomplished across the area while still performing my role as store manager of Drumchapel. The role can consist of support calls/visits to help coach and develop current management teams while being in constant dialogue with the Area manager. When the area manager is unavailable I am in control of the area while reporting to the Regional Operations Director.

As before in Dumbarton store but in a department that took 250k a week in sales and also had to manage Petrol station at the Govan branch.

This role requiredme to learn more around a total product range from cameras to DIY.This role was also a development opportunity due to the fact withinthe role you have many areas such as Music and Video, Photoshop, Clickand Collect and being in a department that sells dependent to seasonsand the weather.My main responsibilities are the same as for the grocery role in terms ofcolleagues and being a team player.I am a Duty Manager within the store with duties that include being responsible for the store, dealing with all customer issues and helping solve complaints, I ensure the customers are being served quickly at the till points, cash lifts are completed and change runs are performed. I ensure all date coded stock is sold through, all colleagues are doing their set tasks and jobs are completed in a timely fashion. I hand over the shop to the nightshift in a suitable fashion and provide them with all the information they need to continue the shift. Also make sure all issues within the store are resolved.I am also developing myself to become a Team Leader which I hope to complete in the near future and develop myself to my ultimate goal of being a General Store Manager.

Responsible for the Grocery Department in store which has a turnover of £1 million plus per week as a store. As well as leading and motivating a department team it’s a role to ensure a fantastic shopping experience for all the customers and drive sales by making sure stock levels are maintained and that the department always looks tidy and appealing. Other duties included communicating all information from the stores Senior management team to the department colleagues, planning and setting up rota’s, implementing new planograms/briefs, helping with all cash lifts and change runs, helping train new and current colleagues. Communicating targets and goals from the General Store Manager and supporting him with all required tasks. I also have to regularly challenge stock issues with head office and receive markdowns and reduced levels of delivery in some instances. I also must chase sales targets and push promotions through trading the store and using as much of the tools I have to help sell through stock.
