SAS purchased Memex Technology Ltd in 2010 to establish a presence within the public security market. I initially continued my role of leading the development of the Memex Patriarch application. In 2013 my teams started to work with the Fraud and Security Intelligence (FSI) division within SAS to build out a new product which would consolidate multiple products SAS was building into a single offering called SAS Visual Investigator.I started out by leading the development of some of the components of SAS VI but soon transitioned to leading the entire project. In 2015 I moved to the North Carolina headquarters of SAS and started to take on a wider role. As director of R&D of Tools and Architecture for the FSI division I look after the following products:• SAS Visual Investigator• SAS Adaptive Learning and Intelligent Agent System• SAS Business Orchestration Services (to be released Q1 2020)• Multiple legacy products including SAS Social Network AnalysisKey achievements:• Managing a software development team of ~70 developers/testers.• Presenting to customers within the Enterprise Business Center.• Presenting on stage at SAS Global Forum to ~4000 event attendees.• Visiting customer sites to represent SAS at a senior level.• Recording videos within the SAS studios to market internally and externally the capabilities of the products being developed by FSI.• Key to the delivery of the Victoria Police project. This was a multimillion-dollar deal to provide Intelligence Management solution serving around 20,000 officers.

I started working for Memex Technology Ltd straight after graduating from university. My first role was as a developer working on the Crimint software. This was a Visual Basic application built on top of the Memex Intelligence Engine which as a search engine suited to free text searching of documents. Crimint was focused on Intelligence Management for law enforcement agencies such as the Metropolitan Police.In 1999, we started work on the next generation of Intelligence Management software. This product went on to be known as Memex Patriarch and was used by several large law enforcement agencies around the world.I started out as a developer on the project but was soon promoted to a software development manager position.Key achievements:• Development of software in multiple technologies including Visual Basic, C#, C, Java.• Agile development methodology.• Managing a development team of around 15 individuals.• Providing demonstrations of software at sales events.• Supporting customers using the Memex products.• Key to supporting the Metropolitan Police. This customer has around 40,000 total users spread across the multiple boroughs. At any one time there may be up to 3,000 concurrent users of the software.• Key to the implementation of the Wire project. This was a deal worth over $10MM funded by the US military to provide an intelligence management capability within Iraq.
