About Gordon Amerson Ed.D.

SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS - EDUCATION THOUGHT LEADERMy passion and drive comes from my more than 25+ years of unique professional life experiences as well as developing successful school systems across three distinctly different school districts. Along the way, I have found my true passion of coaching and developing leadership talent within organizations. But my mission and vision comes from my personal experience in discovering how tricky it can be to integrate all of the competing factors we encounter as leaders in our lives. And it solidified for me how important perspective, reflection, and service to others is. It is from this transformational journey that I developed a passionate drive to help leaders find their true value and realize their full potential.At the age of 17, I was blessed to be given the opportunity to be a professional athlete. I was an energetic kid pursuing his childhood dream. After my first season, I win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the minor league team that I was assigned to and I am labeled a “Prospect” in the organization. I believed that I was well on my way to becoming a major leaguer and being highlighted on ESPN night after night. My dreams of ESPN and the Major Leagues came screeching to a halt after major injuries to my hand. ended in multiple injuries. After pouring my heart and soul into my childhood dream, my dream was gone. In what felt like, “the blink of an eye” I had to find my new path. When life gets tough…it defines you and your character. On the way to discovering my passion, I learned just how important true leadership is. Now after leading and inspiring thousands to grow and build their capacity, I want to empower the communities and leaders I serve to relentlessly pursue their goals while building a life and legacy they can be proud of.
