The Engineering Academy is a widening access programme to allow students from all backgrounds to access an education in a range of engineering disciplines. I am responsible for managing the academic programme across the Faculty of Engineering.Strathclyde Co-ordinator - Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Photonics. A leading multi-partner postgraduate research training centre in partnership with industry for Engineering Doctorates (EngD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.Teaching: EF015 Engineering Academy, EE473 Photonic Systems, EE979 Systems Engineering ProjectCurrent research: photoacoustic imaging, laser generated ultrasound, optical detection of ultrasoundPrevious research experience: low-coherence interferometry, optical frequency domain reflectometry, fibre Bragg grating fabrication, characterization and sensing applications, erbium distributed feedback fibre laser fabrication, characterization and sensing applications, photonics, UV laser systems, optical instrumentation, optical fibre sensors, multicore optical fibre/fiber.
