Northern Regional AssessorProviding liability investigation and report only service for wide ranging base of clients in respect of EL, PL, motor and some property damage. Pre and post litigated claims handled.Duties include: Investigating liability on claims mainly in the north of the UK, though frequently travel to the rest of the UK. Deal with varied complexity of claims, including fatalities, disease, WRULD and potential fraud.  Providing high quality reports for clients, setting out findings from investigation and including opinion on liability in line with current statute and case law. Obtaining any salient documentation and taking photographs/videos where required. Obtaining detailed statements as and when required. Performing specific instructions as set out by solicitors within strict court timelines. Keeping caseload and investigations within service level agreement. Building rapport with clients.

Junior Adjuster (Jan 06 – Apr 07)Managed and handled a wide range of mixed EL and PL cases from ‘cradle to grave’.Duties included: Accurate reserving, striving to achieve peak reserve for the case within 3 months of notification. Thorough investigation and detailed reporting in line with client risk handling instructions and FSA compliance guidelines. Ensuring policy requirements adhered to and any indemnity issues investigated promptly. Consideration, research and negotiation of settlement based upon medico-legal reports. The majority were based on orthopaedic or muscular-skeletal injuries. Obtaining witness statements. Consideration and negotiation of special damages, loss of earnings, care, Smith V Manchester, CRU benefits etc. Negotiation of solicitor’s costs. I attended several conferences. During the 2006 period when I was a Trainee Adjuster, I also wrote the rehabilitation module for the same training programme that I was undertaking.
