Gordon Welch, CCM, CHEBoard & Governance Specialist | Hospitality Specialist |Certified Club Manager (CCM) | CMAA Honor Society | Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE)gordon@boardroominstitute.com(918) 914-9050► Turning Around and Growing BusinessesI’ve been called upon on several occasions to transform under-performing companies. I turned around the financial outlooks of two country clubs, rebuilding teams and cultures and restoring profitability in a single year; and I general managed the construction, startup, and profitable operation of a third country club.► Expanding Organizations and Bringing Groups TogetherAs Senior VP and Education Director for the CMAA’s Club Management Institute, I focused on building strategic relationships between the organization and major organizations (PGA, LPGA, GCSAA, and GCOAA), leading universities, and faculty. Under my leadership, we expanded CMAA operations into Europe and established the CMAA BMI International► Developing People and OrganizationsI have built successful professional development programs providing the education and tools that individuals, organizations, and enterprises need to succeed. In 2010 I established Welch & Welch, Providing professional development programs to country clubs, major hotel chains, and other industry clients. I have provided training to cities, government agencies, country clubs, foundations, and 10+ chapters of the CMAA. My goal is always to optimize people’s performance through training and education.► So what kind of leader am I?Ethical, accountable, and approachable. I’m a planner and calculated risk-taker. Perhaps a bit old-school, but very energetic and I get things done. Interestingly, I was painfully shy as a child and young adult. Then I was asked to speak in front of a group and, since that day, I’ve loved public speaking, and have never met another stranger, and now give presentations to audiences of up to 2500 people.
