My advocacy journey began in 2000 when my daughter, Jennifer, was diagnosed with MPS-IIIA, an exceedingly rare childhood disease with no known treatments or cure. Now, after twenty-four years, we stand on the cusp of a breakthrough. Emerging gene and cell therapies hold the potential to revolutionize healthcare in ways not witnessed since the advent of antibiotics and vaccines. Though we tragically lost Jennifer to this disease in 2009, it is not too late to save other children. As a member of the National MPS Society, dedicated to serving individuals and families affected by mucopolysaccharidoses and related diseases, my role is to champion our mission of supporting the relentless research efforts towards a cure and advocating for the legislative and economic changes necessary to achieve it. Learn more about our mission at www.mpssociety.org.In a prior career I founded SynchroNet in 1987 as a provider of professional and managed IT solutions and services, transitioning in 2016 to cloud services through partnering with Amazon Web Services and their global cloud infrastructure. Specialized in AWS-based End User Compute solutions, SynchroNet became recognized as an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner. Recently exited the company after securing investment from SoftwareOne, wishing them the best.
