The Development Innovation Lab (DIL) at the University of Chicago, led by 2019 Nobel laureate Professor Michael Kremer, uses economic tools to create and test impactful innovations in developing countries. DIL collaborates with governments, firms, and nonprofits to address development challenges, reaching millions in low and middle-income countries. As a Policy Assistant, I facilitate research projects, engage stakeholders, organize workshops and conferences, secure cost-saving partnerships, provide technical assistance, manage information, assist in policy and communication strategies, monitor project expenses, promote knowledge sharing, facilitate travel arrangements, and improve remote communication and project management tools.

At Utawala Applied Research Institute, I contribute to extensive fieldwork and data analysis in various Kenyan counties to identify development priorities, investment opportunities, and public-private partnerships. As an Assistant, I have supported the implementation of impactful projects, such as the Women's Livelihood Project in Turkana County, benefiting 540 women through the establishment of savings and lending groups and training in various skills. Additionally, I have set up agricultural and capacity-building projects to assist economically and socially disadvantaged girls in Homabay, Kajiado, and Kisumu Counties. In my role, I provide administrative support, manage research portfolios, conduct desk-based research, develop data collection tools, ensure proper monitoring and evaluation, lead project officers, supervise undergraduate students, develop training guides, and ensure compliance with protocols.
