Developed and implemented an Unemployment Insurance cost control program for an employer with over 15,000 employees operating in 43 states and administering over 4600 unemployment claims, with charges in excess of 5 million dollars annually.**Created and managed training program for branch office and corporate personnel in areas such as basic unemployment knowledge, supervision, communication, documentation, and employment law.**Audited and amended employer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws including Unemployment Insurance, Worker's Compensation, EEO, collective bargaining, and many others.**Involved in analyzing job descriptions for appropriateness in regard to KSA's, compensation, worker's compensation, safety, and training needs.**Routinely interacted with high-level executives within the hierarchy of organization, clients, and State/Federal government to provide information, lobby for change, and to protect the employer's interests.**Represented the employer at hundreds of unemployment hearings in more than 22 states winning 97%.**Reduced employer unemployment charges and costs by over 25 percent in two years, saving the organization hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. Engaged in extensive public contact with claimants, employers, and other government agencies to make secure necessary evidence and make eligibility decisions regarding claimant eligibility for benefits.**Audited claims and eligibility decisions to locate and correct errors in billing, reporting, and other areas.**Coordinated with liability/fraud investigators, administrative law judges, multi-claimant unit (union issues) and other various departments within the State of Michigan to ensure that proper decisions were being made.**Engaged in training new and existing staff in areas of unemployment law and decision-making, supervision, time management, and other skills training subjects (MBTI, 7 Habits facilitator, conflict resolution, etc.).**Involved, on a volunteer basis, in analyzing job descriptions and compensation levels in regard to union collective bargaining agreement and upcoming contract negotiations.
