I am an MD/PhD student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine training to become a physician scientist with a medical focus on cancer and oncotherapy-induced toxicity management in patients. My research interests are translational and include understanding toxicities related to novel and existing cancer therapies, onset and progression of tumorigenesis, and the understanding of the MOA of existing therapies including immunotherapies for cancer treatment. I love to study humans and human systems and devise new and effective ways to tackle relevant problems. My supervisors and colleagues would describe me as a driven, inquisitive, and resourceful individual who maintains a positive, proactive attitude when faced with adversity. Specific fields of interest include biochemistry, cancer biology, cardiooncology, immunooncology, and pharmacology.

Sure Summer Research InternUniversity Of Mississippi Medical Center May 2014 - Aug 2014Jackson, Mississippi AreaWorking in the biochemistry department of UMMC as a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Intern. My lab mainly studies the oncogenic functions of mutant p53 gene. My work focused on the study of the effect of NMDA Receptor inhibition (via the drug MK-801) on the survival and activity of mutant p53 breast cancer cells. I worked with multiple mutant p53 breast cancer cell lines to determine the efficacy of the drug (which is an NMDA receptor antagonist) in killing off the cancerous cells. -
