Ethi is a personal data startup helping people to understand, control, and use the personal data that companies collect about them.Project: How Spotify Data Can Predict Mental StateRole: Data ScientistThe project focussed on analyzing and mimicking the way Spotify uses the data it gets from its users to predict their mood using various techniques from the fields of Machine Learning and NLP.Responsibilities: - Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of 5 members. - Worked on the NLP part of the model making where I analyzed how the lyrics of songs can be used to classify the song's mood. Made use of a bidirectional LSTM with GloVe embeddings to achieve an accuracy of around 90%. - Also looked at a second approach where in K-Means Clustering and SVMs were used with audio features of songs to first create mood labels and then use them for classification.
