Represented NSW at the National Best Practices Forum and wrote several published national work instructions. Also managed the installation and commissioning of the analog and then the new digital video network in Telstra's television operations centre. Managed all Sydney work on microwave radio systems to provide transmission between RBS and MSSC and looked after customer video and customer radio providing fibre paths and access technology to media customers eg all commercial TV and Radio Stations in Australia.

From PDH to SDH to DWDM technologies in transmission together microwave transmission systems using NEC Pasolinks affords me broad knowledge in both transmission and switching.Of particular significance, I was involved with the first optical fibre cable link between Sydney and Melbourne in 1985 as an active member of the Optical Fibre Project Team which was a valuable learning experience as I was the only apprentice on the team. I was treated no differently from my very highly experienced and senior team members. This afforded me to work in a mode that was well ahead of people in the same stage of their careers and which greatly assisted me in rapidly moving up the corporate ladder.
