Mr. Devkota has a wide range of experience, especially in renewable energy and environmental sectors. He started his involvement in these sectors while working for Biogas Company where, at various capacities, he worked towards developing necessary skills, raising awareness and providing guidance to various governmental and non-governmental sectors, institutions in undertaking responsibilities of developing biogas sector in Nepal. He has conducted various researches especially in the design of biogas plants one of them is most commonly used in Nepal, development of appliances, using various alternative feedstocks and application of slurry in various crops. Later he worked with Development and Consulting Services, a UMN organisation at Butwal in various capacities starting from Divisional manager to Director. While at DCS, he was actively involved in preparation, evaluation and implementation of various enterprises development proposals in diverse sector. The experience is further strengthened by his input to the Local Governance Programme of UNDP and Nepal Biogas Promotion Group. He has also worked with Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC/DANIDA) as Senior Renewable Energy Expert from January to March 1999. He was working with Universal Consultancy Services (P) Ltd. (UCS), a Nepali institution working in the field of renewable energy, environment and water supply and sanitation. From 2010, he is working as a freelance consultant.As is evident, his pervious experience has entailed working towards development of strong, capable and self-reliant private enterprise in environment and development sector. His technical and communication skills and experiences are highly relevant in achieving desired level of success in these sectors. He has published three books and more than five dozen of articles in various reports, newsletters and seminar proceedings.
