I manage an end-to-end publishing team; from Acquisition to Publishing.

I manage the book writing and development process. My team consists of Content Development Editors, Project Coordinators, Technical Editors, and Copy Editors who work on the book during the development and production stages. My team handles 30-40 books at a time, and I have to make sure that we deliver a constant output in terms of the number of titles, without compromising the quality of the end product and relationships with our authors and reviewers. The following pointers will give you a fair idea of what I do;*Ensure that my team delivers expected results (as mentioned above) and contribute to achieving business goals*Introduce new ideas and lean processes to solve problems and deliver better results*Drive my team towards building long-lasting relationships with external stakeholders*Help my team develop the right set of skills by providing regular feedback, conducting appraisals, creating development plans, and monitoring growth*Create a lean recruitment plan, work with HR to hire right candidates, and retain existing team members

I manage freelance authors and offer specific suggestions about the core intentions and goals of the book, the polish, narrative voice, pacing, style, language – the craft and literary art of the book. It is my responsibility to create a collaborative work environment with editorial, marketing, media, design, art editing and other internal departments to ensure the ultimate success of the product.
