Rajan is a veteran with more than 2 decades of experience in the Insurance Industry both as an underwriter as well a broker. His humble journey started with a 2-year course on non-life Insurance which he completed in the year 1989. Following course completion he joined Oriental Insurance, one among the PSU’s in India, underwriting all general insurance products before moving to the Middle East region to work in a broking environment for Heath Lambert Group [Lloyd’s Broker] in Dubai. During his tenure of 5 years in the ME region, he specialized in marine practice managing a team and portfolio involving major Corporate clients typically Shipowners, Managers, Port Operators, Commodity Traders Etc.Rajan joined Aon, Singapore in the year 2003 and headed the speciality team for Marine which grew to have a portfolio of upstream assets and ship conversion risks too. As a Director, his responsibility involved overall management of the speciality team, strategic planning of business development, broking and servicing retail clients including top and bottom-line results. During his eight-year of employment term with Aon, Rajan devoted a year in India to promote the marine initiatives for its Joint Venture. But he returned to Singapore in early 2008 to continue his leadership responsibilities for Aon in South East Asia. During his tenure at AON, he was a member of the senior management team in Singapore and the Sales Committee.In 2011, Rajan eagerly joined Marsh Marine & Energy team for Asia. In his active role as a Senior Vice President, he took care of major client relationship responsibilities and business development across the region. In his last position at Miller Asia, Rajan naturally headed the marine business practice for the region including clients across Sub-Continent and the Middle East. He undoubtedly has vast experience in broking Marine and Upstream risk solutions throughout his successful career in Insurance Industry. His practice invariably involves risk solutions to a broad range of key players in the shipping and offshore industry such as asset owners, operators, Yards, Ports and commodity traders. Rajan is currently on a career break heading various change management projects in his family business (www.thaaieducation.com) which runs about 7 institutions providing education from primary schooling till post-graduation for about 5000 students in India. In the past 3 years, Rajan has successfully diversified the groups business into Coir manufacturing, Warehousing and Agro products.
