As the lead of the Ruby team, I was responsible for the development and maintenance of Vetstreet’s flagship products, the Pet Portal applications built on Ruby on Rails.Duties and Responsibilities:* Execute projects that add features and functionality to various Ruby/Rails and Java based applications that constitute the Pet Portals ecosystem. This includes iteration planning, application design, implementation, unit testing, managing deployments and code reviews.* Run weekly production support sprints that provide bug fixes and production support for Vetstreet’s Ruby and Java based web applications.* Manage, collaborate and coordinate technical documentation.* Collaborate with the Product Development team to develop the Functional Design Specifications for various projects and participate in discussions to determine the scope, feasibility and risks for a project.

As a Senior Software Engineer, I was engaged in a number of projects for Accion Labs' client, Vetstreet, at its Silver Spring, MD office. Besides working on the feature enhancements for various projects, I was also responsible for production support for all the Ruby/Rails applications at Vetstreet.
