AS PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER· Study and understand the cardinal point specification / tender enquiry form allocated by team leader.· Prepare and present the Mechanical requirement specification document in project kick-off meeting to clarify and finalize the inputs.· Initiate conceptual design of the product based on the benchmark data.· Do multiple conceptual design and identify the pros and cons of each concept.· Present the conceptual designs to MERB team and select the best concept to realize the product successfully.· Prepare preliminary BOM.· Prepare DXF or EMN/EMP file for PCB design.· Present the selected concept design to customer in PDR for approval with compliance matrix.· After PDR, work in-detail to develop the product to qualify it in all the key characteristics identified in mechanical requirement specification like EMI/EMC compatibility, IP rating, weight constraints, rugged environment conditions.· Verify the machining feasibility, cable routing feasibility, assembly feasibility during the detail design stage.· Present the detail design to DRB for their approval.· Prepare 2D drawings for fabrication.· Review and release the 2D drawings to CMO.· Prepare final BOM and release it for procurement.· Support vendor in case of any clarification in drawings or requirement.· Prepare Mechanical assembly instructions for proto system assembly.· Provide support for PDN team during proto assembly.· Note the observations in proto assembly, and update the corrections through Change request and baseline the BOM for production.· Actively participate in team brainstorming sessions.
