I served as the primary liaison between tenant companies and the University of Wolverhampton Science Park's scientific steering group for over three years, fostering collaboration and effective communication on scientific matters. In this role, I facilitated COSHH assessments and conducted health and safety audits across more than seven tenant laboratories, contributing significantly to a culture of safety and compliance.I also took the lead in developing and presenting quarterly review reports to a diverse audience of scientific and non-scientific stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information and progress. In a pioneering collaboration with the West-Midlands Myeloma Network, I led efforts to develop a novel drug targeting multiple myeloma, utilizing my expertise in molecular biology techniques and cell-based assays. The experience not only honed my skills in advanced techniques such as qPCR, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, and fluorescent microscopy but also deepened my understanding of the complexities of cancer research, particularly in investigating cell death, proliferation, and drug resistance.Central to our research were cell-based assays—MTT cytotoxicity, Annexin V/PI FACS analysis, and Transwell migration—key in evaluating anticancer compounds. Through these assays, we established in vitro dose-response relationships and investigated drug synergies, contributing significantly to our understanding of anticancer activity and mechanism of action.My role also involving the culturing and maintenance of diverse 2D, 3D and primary cell models. Beyond the bench, I was actively involved in mentoring of a dynamic team of students, guiding them through complex experimental designs and fostering a culture of critical scientific inquiry. Communicating our findings was crucial. I took pride in presenting our research at both national and international conferences, translating complex scientific concepts into accessible knowledge. This not only showcased our pioneering work but also underscored the importance of scientific communication in advancing medical research
