I have been involved in many projects at WMFS, ranging from website redevelopments to major incident command software. My involvement in these projects has ranged from lead developer to project manager and software architect. I have also mentored other java developers and aided in the training of the non-java developers. Developed reputation for troubleshooting and helping bring struggling projects back on track.Architect and Team Lead for opensource mobile workflow platform, Hakken. See project link for details.Designed and did initial development of GIS based major incident command software in use in significant operational situations. Succesful hand over to ongoing development team.Technical project manager and lead developer for Melio, a personal development recording tool. This allows operational staff to record and maintain compliance with national occupational standards. Involved in full life cycle of this multi-phase project.Provided significant input to our custom business process management and data capture platform, Activity Assistant. Responsible for design decisions and updating is to allow for better integration with web services and other applications. Activity Assistant has been nominated for and won national awards and has been deployed to 3 other fire brigades.Technical management and development of new website, including online payments and integration with the Government Gateway and public services including fire & explosives licence management and Home Risk Assessment bookings. Liasied with all aspects of the business and external graphic designers. Implemented using a Java based CMS and custom java web applications using Spring & Hibernate. The website was in production from 2008 to 2012. I provided assistance to the team performing the 2012 refresh.Substantial experience in database design, optimisation, ad hoc querying, and stored procedure development in PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL & SQLite.

Runservicenet were a technology startup, that developed a unique SOA oriented Business Process Management platform known as DecisionX.As a senior developer I was responsible for large parts of the Java code base both in their design and development. One of my key areas of development was in the production of a dynamic web based user interface for the platform. This shared many similarities with Google Web Toolkit in its design.As well as development, I was responsible for mentoring other team members and for managing the deployment and testing processes,Runservicenet were acuired by Longview Solutions in 2006.
