I'm an IT Enthusiast, dad of 3 adorable little ones, and a music lover. I've been in IT in one way or another professionally since the around 2006. Much earlier if you include the tinkering I used to do on my dad's computer way back in the mid 90's!From building my own computers when I was 16 to performing infrastructure upgrades and migrations later on in my career, I've always enjoyed all aspects surrounding computers.I started my career on the hardware side of things, performing break/fix and other bench related duties from shipping and receiving, parts ordering and more across a couple different companies.Then I moved onto the more "advanced" side of IT, with automation (via CMD, PowerShell, RMM Scripting, etc.), systems management (via handling internal IT from user creates to system upgrades), and more!Since moving to the more administrative side of IT, I also keep finding myself drawn in to become to subject matter expert of backup systems and disaster recovery scenarios. I have worked with a bunch so far with great understanding of the ins and outs of them (both on-premise to cloud backup solutions). Ensuring you have good backups (and that they work!) is the key to success when disaster strikes a business (or a person!). I'm lucky enough to have a decent home lab which allows me to continue on with my own education through setting things up myself from scratch and seeing how they work (or break things and drive my family crazy).
