Gustavo has a deep background in strategic leadership, organizational process improvement, research, marketing, sales, product and user experience, and analytics.Gustavo Ponce de Leon was formally in charge of rendering strategic support and leadership for the Community Services Agency at Stanislaus County, advancing the organization's overall mission to provide much-needed welfare services to those in need and support a healthy community.At the same time, He pursued and obtained his MBA from CSU, Stanislaus where he finished with a 4.0 GPA and graduated "with distinction", on 5/28/21.Previously, He graduated from the same university and received a BA in Cultural Anthropology. During his studies, he spearheaded a consumer market study for the Certified Turlock Farmer's Market (CTFM) in Turlock, CA. A major factor identified as contributing to a decline in sales was the Board’s decision to relocate the market to the Fairgrounds from Downtown Turlock. This decision saw a sharp decline in sales because shopping downtown was identified as being part of the culture of Turlock residents.Gustavo and his research team gave critical recommendations to the Board of Supervisors that in short time of implementation led to sweeping and innovative results for both vendors and customers. Among these, was the proposal to re-locate the Farmer’s Market to its original Downtown location and save it from ceasing to exist. As of January 2018, the CTFM is once again thriving and growing in Downtown Turlock.Upon graduation, Gustavo attended the Off the Beaten Track field school of Cultural Anthropology in Gozo, Malta. While there, he directed a 6-week study into the local Malta Band Clubs. In his work, Gustavo proved that success in research stems from first understanding the problem, product or consumer/user. The resulting peer-reviewed article in progress reveals attitudes and a refortified self-identity sentiment towards keeping Band Club culture alive among the island’s millennial generation.Gustavo also engages in learning for fun. 3 months after making his decision to learn, He now speaks, reads and writes em português at a conversational capacity.Gustavo creates value by merging his background in Cultural Anthropology to the business world.
