Retirement followed a career focussed on the Education sector - originally a teacher, principal and professional development facilitator and then a move to the commercial sector, still with a strong education specialty, but with increasing success within the wider government sector.I have significant and successful experience in writing RFP responses that has resulting in some very large contracts being won, deployed, leased and managed... including the provision and support of a single fleet of 54,000+ computers - on-going over a 3+3+3 year period. NZ's single largest computer fleet.Strong interest in supporting digital equity including leading the deployment and management of 28,000 devices during the Covid lock-downs to support student learning from home.I have a good understanding of leasing, whole of life device management and the art of negotiation.I have successfully lead the All of Government IT Hardware RFP response, negotiation and implementation process through the 3 generations of that government procurement scheme (over 12 years) and understand the expectations of government and contractural matters including the current Boarder Outcomes objectives.A strategic thinker, my role within the senior management teams has been to provide ideas and challenges around adjusting the company's response to changing commercial realities, building team focus, pursuing innovation to better meet the needs of customers. I have provided a strong mentoring role throughout my career.Governance roles have been part of my work - life balance, chairing a number of charities and school BOTs.

As part of the senior leadership team at Cyclone my role is to provide the best strategic ICT options for people in schools (students and staff), institutions (students & staff), business or government. As the lead for NZ All of Government IT Hardware, we offer hardware & solutions around Apple, Dell, Dynabook, Panasonic, Microsoft & Acer products. We are a significant third party supplier to customers around Lenovo (Edn Partner of the Year 2020 and 21) & HP (NZ Edn Partner of the Year 2015-21). We manage TELA+ the NZ Min of Education's scheme that provides a digital device to every teacher in a state & integrated school with 54,000+ devices procured, leased, replaced & supported.Professional milestones have included winning competitive RFP bids for TELA+ (renewed 2021); software licensing for all NZ state & integrated schools (& Min Edn), polytechnics & most universities; development of Whole of Life asset management processes for uni deployments.Major agencies provided for include: DIA, NZTE, Statistics, Defence, Ministry of Health, NZ Police, universities, polytechnics & number of local councils & public/ private companies nationally.We work closely to develop symbiotic strategic partnerships in procurement, supply, service, finance, insurance, cloud services & training.
