Developed and maintained procedures around the stringent protocols for the manufacture and repair of ships. In the short period of time that I was present at Vancouver shipyards I earned recognition for achieving two of the highest time loss / accident free records for the group of workers. Shipbuilding is very challenging environment for construction as there are many regulations that must be complied too. I was able to increase the safety and efficiency of confined space, hot work protocols, gas freeing of vessels and tanks as well as the general tasks in the yard. Started an in-house training system for all the workers in all disciplines of safety. Managed a team of 6 safety professionals which were trained as instructors to teach and deliver certified training to the entire staff.Developed and instituted a formal GRTW (Graduated Return to Work) program for the shipyard group. Employees were very receptive of the program and it was effective on dealing with cases in relation to Work Safe BC. Designed and developed a prototype for a fireproof welding lifejacket for welders that weld over water – Work Safe BC accepted the design and Vancouver Shipyards was to take the prototype through the CSA protocols upon my departure.Designed and implemented a new method for safety reporting in the shipyard that was adopted and used throughout the Washington Marine Group. Started and issued four quarterly newsletters for the entire staff, Newsletters were designed to educate and to increase feedback from the workers, it was very successful. Completed Miggs-Bryer testing and completed 6 day leadership development training that was available to all senior managers.

Previous experience allowed fulfilling this role to the point of satisfaction of the organizations requirements. I resided in this role as Administration Manager, responsible for Administration, Human Resources, Quality and OH&S until I resigned. -
