Dime is a mobile application that was formulated to connect nightlife partygoers with one another in a social format while incorporating eCommerce functionality. The hyper-focused location based social eCommerce platform allows users to meet new people in the same club or bar, chat with a messaging feature and order, pay and send drinks to one another.By incorporating a payment gateway with the location-based platform, we were creating a new revenue stream for nightlife locations that patrons would not normally spend on, i.e. "Pick up drinks", particularly in Asia where people are more reserved and introverted.Drinks are collected directly from the bartenders which maintains the "integrity" of the drinks instead of having received a potentially compromised drink with a date-rape drug, for instance.The ordering and payment system as well as the UI/UX was planned to optimise the bar's workflow, process payments and fulfill orders faster resulting in an overall higher possible turnover rate for merchants.Fully integrated with merchant POS systems allow merchants to track ROI as well as to speed up accounting and closing settlements. This also allows users to track and view their own orders and payments.Our initial idea was to provide our app serving as SaaS for merchants to use with only minimal commissions on payment transactions as well as advertising and we have since received an offer from an F&B group to buy the platform and to assist them to turn it into a white label solution that they can integrate with their existing self-ordering systems.
