Under the direction of Dr. Micheal Levitt, M.D. FAANS, the SANS center research aims to find solutions for patients before, during, and after hospitalization for stroke and other neurological conditions. I have had the opportunity to observe a variety of neurological and vascular surgeries and procedures, participate in the collaborative efforts of the research team in the ongoing projects, as well as gain valuable medical experience by helping collect patient tissue samples for a variety of research projects.

As a tasting room associate, I played a role in creating memorable experiences for visitors and wine club members. My responsibilities included wine education, providing warm hospitality, sales, and team collaboration. My time at Saucelito Canyon allowed me to refine my communication skills, deepen my appreciation for wine, and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Working on Dr. Sandra Ward's project developing Glutathione sensitive vesicles loaded into a pH sensitive hydrogel for multi-drug selective release

My role was to help oversee the experiments that students are working on, answer student questions, grade lab technique and assignments, ensure students understand what they are doing, and assist students when the primary lab instructor is busy. I also assisted lab instructors and students outside of class time to better aid students and provide extra material and practice to help them succeed in the course.

Assisting with the University's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and testing requirements for students. My responsibilities included biohazard sample transfer and control before qPCR tests, and through my participation was able to gain experience working in a clinical laboratory. This experience not only deepened my scientific knowledge but also reinforced my commitment to public health. It was a privilege to contribute to the effort in combatting the pandemic.
